The Paris Media Center

On the occasion of the 2024 summer sports festivities, the Paris City Hall set up at the heart of the city, within the iconic Carreau du Temple, to create a unique space dedicated to international media covering the context and behind the scenes of the event: the Paris Media Centre.

A vibrant space bringing together the Parisians who bring the city to life every day

A venue capable of hosting 600 people simultaneously, featuring coworking spaces, a dedicated conference area, TV and radio recording studios, as well as dining and relaxation zones. Open 7 days a week throughout the entire period, it ensured exclusive access to information for media from around the world.

We are proud to have been responsible for the artistic direction and organization of this project.

An artistic installation in motion

The venue features an artistic scenography—an inclusive and interactive artwork created by Jeanne Varaldi, visual artist and urban planner.

This piece presents fragments of conversations the artist held with Parisians during walks around the city. A digital kiosk allows visitors to access the full stories, accompanied by a series of portraits captured by photographer Quentin Chevrier.

A living space that promotes new ways of working, from café to office, offering numerous services such as a shop, concierge, café, newsstand, and restaurant.

An unexpected lineup

Each day, the Paris Media Centre hosted a diverse and varied program: morning fitness classes, local product tasting workshops, creative sessions, special shows, and cocktail afterwork events.

Within the auditorium of the Carreau du Temple, media at the Paris Media Centre had daily access to press briefings, news updates, and conferences featuring iconic personalities and key players in Paris’s transformation.

Finally, the media were invited to participate in press tours to discover emblematic locations throughout Paris.

A CSR commitment

All the furniture was designed and manufactured in collaboration with local Parisian workshops. The wood and other materials were carefully selected from sustainably managed forests.

The signage deployed was designed to be fully inclusive, making the experience accessible to all visitors. Braille panels facilitate navigation for visually impaired individuals, while universal pictograms are used throughout. Magnetic loops are also available to ensure immediate comprehension of information regardless of participants’ needs.

At the same time, sustainable gastronomy was highlighted by promoting short supply chains and local farmers. For two months, journalists enjoyed the restaurant, which brought together the best community of chefs and artisans in the capital—already well regarded by Parisians—to create moments of sharing. The restaurant supports the local economy by offering fresh, French, seasonal, and environmentally friendly products, with vegan and gluten-free options.
